From Yorkshire to the Channel Islands: a new partnership

I’m delighted to share some exciting news. Pip Interior Designs is now partnered with Forty-eight Private Office | Forbes Global Properties, and you can find me in their latest Jersey and Guernsey publications.

My studio is in York, and most of my work is still here in Yorkshire. This partnership means I now also take on projects right across the Channel Islands, from Jersey and Guernsey to Alderney, Sark and Herm, as well as further afield in the UK.

Who are Forty-eight?

Forty-eight is a St Helier estate agency that deals only in high-end homes across Jersey and Guernsey. It’s part of the Forbes Global Properties network, which links luxury property specialists around the world.

When someone buys a special home, the next question is usually how to make it their own. That’s where I come in.

What I do: individual rooms, full houses and commercial properties

Every project is different, but my work falls into three broad areas.

Individual rooms

Sometimes one room just isn’t working. It might be a sitting room you never sit in, a bedroom that doesn’t feel restful, or a kitchen that’s lovely to look at but hard to cook in. I look after every detail, from wall colour and lighting to window dressings, soft furnishings and even the door handles, until the room feels right.

Full houses

A whole-house project is where design and project management really come together. I plan the look and feel of every room. I also bring in and manage a trusted team of trades, so you have one person looking after the whole project from start to finish.

Channel Islands projects work a little differently: there I take care of the interior design and the sourcing, and work alongside the trades rather than managing them on site.

The Old Rectory, near York, is a good example: a full refurbishment, from the kitchen and bathrooms to the finishing touches in every room.

Commercial properties

Hotels, restaurants and other hospitality spaces have to look beautiful, and they also have to stand up to daily use and work for guests and staff alike. My work at The Log Room in Helmsley shows how warm, layered interiors can make a commercial space feel like home.

Yorkshire first, and across the Channel Islands too

Yorkshire is my home, and it’s where most of my clients are, from York and Harrogate to Helmsley and the Dales. My approach works just as well further away, though. Careful planning, clear communication and a reliable team of trades mean I can take on projects anywhere in the UK, and now across the Channel Islands too.

Further from home I work a little differently. I’m not on site every day, so I don’t manage the trades directly — but I make regular site visits, liaise with the team throughout, and source and order everything that goes into the project, so the design is delivered as it was intended.

If you’ve recently bought a home in Jersey, Guernsey or anywhere else in the Channel Islands, or you’re about to, and you want help making it your own, I’d love to hear from you.
